PIAGGIO is the company that in 1946 produced a scooter brand whose name became  more well known than its parent company's.  PIAGGIO doesn't just produce the Vespa scooter though, it produces a range of models with the same technology that produces the world famous Vespa.  In January 2005 PIAGGIO bought the Aprilia brand and factory in Italy, including the Moto Guzzi brand.
