| PIAGGIO is
the company that in 1946 produced a scooter brand whose name
became more well known than its parent company's.
PIAGGIO doesn't just produce the Vespa scooter though, it
produces a range of models with the same technology that produces the
world famous Vespa. In January 2005 PIAGGIO bought the
Aprilia brand and factory in Italy, including the Moto Guzzi
brand. The PIAGGIO group now encompasses PIAGGIO, Vespa, Gilera, Derbi,
